Harrison Ford has landed his first ongoing TV series role, co-starring alongside Jason Segel in the comedy series “Shrinking” for the Apple TV+ service.
Segel plays a grieving therapist who begins to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge changes to people’s lives – including his own.
Ford will play Dr. Phil Rhodes, a down-to-earth, blunt ‘blue-collar shrink’ and pioneer in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Phil has built a successful practice over the years that he shares with his two young proteges, Jimmy and Gaby.
Fiercely independent, Phil has recently been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, which forces him out of his comfort zone as he grapples with intrusive friends, estranged family and his legacy.
Warner Bros. Television and Doozer Productions are backing the project which hails from Segel along with “Ted Lasso” co-creator/showrunner Bill Lawrence and actor/producer Brett Goldstein. All three will executive produce alongside Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer.
