The axe has swung hard today with both Hulu and NBC cancelling two series each.
Hulu has scrapped its period drama “Harlots” after three seasons, and its femme fatale thriller series “Reprisal” after one season. Both shows have already aired their finales, and renewal decisions await for other Hulu originals like “Castle Rock,” “High Fidelity” and “Normal People”.
Meanwhile NBC has scrapped two first-year shows – the comedy “Perfect Harmony” and its high-profile drama “Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector,” neither of which scored good reviews or significant audience.
The latter was an adaptation of the novel by Jeffrey Deaver that previously became the 1999 film “The Bone Collector” with Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie.
