Three months after its second season wrapped, HBO Max has opted to renew its DC Comics inspired popular adult-animated series “Harley Quinn” for a third season.
The show would be back in late 2021 at the earliest with executive producers Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey returning. Schumacker recently told ComicBook.com that renewal conversations: “were happening that were sort of well above our pay grade have been going… it had been very extensive.”
The move from DC Universe straight to HBO Max is no surprise as every other original show from DC Universe that has survived is doing the same. DC Universe has officially ditched all its original series and instead will be rebranded as a sole premium comic book service called DC Universe Infinite with access to more than 24,000 comic books at launch on January 21st 2021.
DC Universe Infinite subscribers will also encounter digital-first comics, member access to DC fan events, as well as a steady stream of recently released comics six months after their physical versions hit store shelves. It will be expanded globally beginning Summer 2021. Pricing wise it will come in at $7.99 a month or $74.99 a year.
