Tom Hardy and “Joker” actress Zazie Beetz are teaming for the Nordic noir Apple TV+ series “Lazarus” based on the Joona Linna book series by author Lars Kepler.
“Lazarus” will follow police detective Saga Bauer (Beetz) as she goes undercover in a maximum-security psych ward to discover the secrets of serial killer Jurek Walter (Hardy).
Kepler is a pseudonym for writers Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril and their acclaimed book series has sold more than 17 million copies worldwide.
Norwegian TV director Øystein Karlsen will write, direct, and executive produce whilst Hardy, Beetz, Dean Baker, David Rysdahl, the Ahndorils, and Niclas Salomonsson executive produce.
The project is still in the nearing development stage, but A+E Studio and Range Studios are currently closing deals with Apple.
