Justin Tipping and Joshua Beirne-Golden have come onboard to pen a rewrite of the superhero comic book feature adaptation “Harbinger” at Sony Pictures.
The 1992 comic centers on Peter Stanchek, a psionically-charged ‘harbinger’. Respected philanthropist and fellow harbinger Toyo Harada recruits him into the foundation where he begins a long road towards a destiny that will reshape the course of human history.
Neal Moritz, Toby Jaffe and Valiant Dinesh Shamdasani are slated to produce.
“Harbinger” is the first of five films in a deal between Sony, comic book publisher Valiant Entertainment and LA & Beijing-based DMG. Another film, “Bloodshot,” is also in the works. Should they be successful, both films will then get a sequel and a film titled “Harbinger Wars” in which they crossover.
