Netflix has released the official promo for “Douglas,” the new special from Australian comedian Hannah Gadsby who took the world by storm with her last Netflix special “Nanette” which deconstructed comedy and trauma.
What was intended to be a bridge burning end to her career ended up taking her to new heights and scored Gadsby an Emmy for Outstanding Writing and a Peabody Award.
In the new special she directly addresses Nanette‘s success along with taking aim at those who complained her award-winning show was not comedy but a lecture.
The majority of it though looks at how everything is named and claimed by powerful men and dealing with her autism in her current life. “Hannah Gadsby: Douglas” premieres on Netflix on May 26th.
