Jon Hamm (“Mad Men”) is reportedly set to star in his long-time love Jennifer Westfeldt’s second feature “Friends With Kids” for likely their own production company Points West Pictures says Showbiz 411.
Westfeldt (“Kissing Jessica Stein”) and Hamm are hoping to persuade Anne Hathaway and Kristen Wiig to join the cast of the project which Westfeldt wrote. A staged reading of the film’s script earlier this year drew the likes of Rosemarie Dewitt, Noah Emmerich and Adam Scott as characters.
The film follows longtime best friends in Manhattan who are not romantically involved but are close friends with two childless married couples – couples who have children and soon find their marriages suffering.
At last report, both Hamm and Westfeldt were also looking into an adaptation of Cusi Cram’s play “Dusty and the Big Bad World”.
