Hader, Cardellini Set For “They Know” Horror

HBO

Marking his first directing job since his Emmy-winning dark comedy “Barry,” actor Bill Hader is set to write, direct and star in the horror feature “They Know” for MRC.

Nexus Point News broke the news and adds that Linda Cardellini is in talks to star alongside Hader in the project which is based on an original story Hader created with his “Barry” collaborator Duffy Boudreau.

The story centers on a divorced dad named Kyle (Hader) who grows suspicious that his ex-wife (Cardellini) is secretly dating a mysterious man – their new neighbor – who is having a strange influence on their children.

Casting for the additional characters is currently underway. Bob Graf, Alyssa Donovan and Hader are set to produce and filming begins in Los Angeles this spring.

MRC is coming off the current box-office chart topping “Wuthering Heights” adaptation.

Hader is set to voice the title character in the upcoming animated adaptation of “The Cat in the Hat” at Warners, while Cardellini has multiple projects on the way including the film “Way of the Warrior Kid,” HBO’s dark comedy series “DTF St. Louis” and the “Friday the 13th” prequel series “Crystal Lake” on Peacock.
