Shira Haas (“Unorthodox”) will star and Barbra Streisand is set to executive produce drama series “Lioness,” an adaptation of Francine Klagsbrun’s book about the life of legendary and controversial Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir.
The story chronicles the life and career of Meir from her birth in Kiev to her American upbringing in Milwaukee, to her role in the formation of Israel and rise to become the new nation’s first and only female prime minister.
MGM/UA Television and PatMa Productions’ project will be written and executive produced by Emmy winner Eric Tuchman (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) and directed and executive produced by Emmy winner Mimi Leder (“The Morning Show”).
