Jake Gyllenhaal is set to star and re-team with his “Southpaw” director Antoine Fuqua for the remake of Gustav Moller’s acclaimed single setting Danish thriller “The Guilty” for Bold Films and Amet Entertainment.
Set over the course of a single morning and entirely within in a 911 dispatch call center, Gyllenhaal plays call operator Joe Bayler who tries to save a distraught caller in grave danger. He soon discovers that nothing is as it seems, and facing the truth is the only way out.
“True Detective” creator Nic Pizzolatto is penning the U.S. version which Gyllenhaal, Fuqua, Riva Marker, Scott Greenberg, Michel Litvak, David Haring, Gary Michael Walters, David Litvak and Svetlana Metkina will produce.
Filming kciks off November in a single location in Los Angeles, following rigorous sanitation and safety protocols. Fuqua will get to work on the Will Smith-led drama “Emancipation” afterwards.
