As previously reported, Warner Bros. Discovery is expanding its Leavesden Studios complex in the UK in the coming years.
The assumption was the facility would serve as a home base for DC Studios productions, especially as DC Studios chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran were reportedly consulted about the plans.
Now, Gunn has confirmed that the complex is where the majority of future DC projects will be shot, saying in a post on Threads: “Most future DC projects will be shot largely in London. Superman: Legacy is being shot in many places across the world, but our home base is in Atlanta.”
The post followed an earlier post he did showcasing Superman wall art in the production offices of the film – that photo can be seen here. Pre-production on that project is already well underway ahead of a shoot throughout the first half of next year.
David Corenswet plays Clark Kent/Superman alongside Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho. Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, and Superman’s nemesis Lex Luthor are still unannounced.
Other movies coming from DC in the future are “The Authority,” “Batman: The Brave and the Bold,” “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” and “Swamp Thing” along with TV shows like “Booster Gold,” “Waller,” “Paradise Lost” and “Lanterns”.
