Gunn Talks His Current Daily DC Schedule

Warner Bros. Pictures

James Gunn recently revealed some updates on the status of several DC Universe projects.

In a posting on Threads, Gunn was asked what his day-to-day looked like as a DC Studios co-CEO.

He explained there really was no ‘average day’ as his attention was drawn across multiple projects at any one time, and the fun lies in that it was always different.

Then he explained where things stand right now:

“The majority of days currently are spent prepping Man of Tomorrow – storyboarding & department meetings & scouting & casting, interspersed with going over cuts of “Supergirl” & “Lanterns,” discussing marketing on all the projects, reading & making notes on new scripts, supporting “The Batman Part II” crew to make sure it goes smoothly, waiting for first cut of “Clayface” (can’t wait!), okaying designs for all kinds of stuff, & I’m sure many things I’m forgetting.”

The comments come as the first footage from HBO’s upcoming Green Lantern-inspired action-drama series “Lanterns” recently screened for media at HBO Max’s Upfront event São Paulo, Brazil.

Omlete indicates the footage showed Hal Jordan taking flight, no sign of any costumes, a mention of Ch’p, and an overall “western” vibe with a lot of brown tones. The series sees John Stewart and Hal Jordan at loggerheads with Jordan dubbed a ‘substitute teacher’ for Hal.

All the aforementioned projects are due in 2026 nd 2027 with “Supergirl” in cinemas on June 26th 2026, “Clayface” on September 11th 2026, and “Lanterns” at some point during the Summer. The in 2027 both “Man of Tomorrow” and “The Batman Part II” arrive on July 9th 2027 and October 1st 2027 respectively.
