Fillmmaker James Gunn has revealed the official logo for his upcoming DC Comics film adaptation “The Suicide Squad” at Warner Bros. Pictures.
The reveal comes ahead of the DC FanDome Event on August 22nd where it’s hoped a poster or footage reveal of some sort will take place. With these titles, Gunn confirmed something is coming to that event saying: “the cast and I have so much more to show you guys on Aug 22.”
Part sequel, part reboot of the 2016 “Suicide Squad” film, original cast members Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman and Jai Courtney all return and are joined by Idris Elba, John Cena, Storm Reid, Nathan Fillion, Peter Capaldi, Taika Waititi, Pete Davidson, Alice Braga, and Michael Rooker. The cast came up with a happy birthday video for Gunn which you can also see below.
Gunn is next expected to get to work on a third “Guardians of the Galaxy” film and responded to a fan question about his schedule on Twitter today, saying: “I can confirm that the plans for when we’re filming #GotGVol3 & when it’s being released have not changed at all over the past year & a half or so. Any rumors otherwise are false. I appreciate your caution!.”
“The Suicide Squad” is expected to debut in cinemas next Summer. A third “Guardians” hasn’t set a date as yet.
