Gunn Has Read “The Batman Part II” Script

Warner Bros. Pictures

DC Studios chief James Gunn has confirmed that he’s finished the script for Matt Reeves’ “The Batman: Part II”.

Appearing on the red carpet of Monday’s “Superman” world premiere, the film’s writer and director briefly confirmed reports he’s read the script, telling Deadline “it’s great”.

Gunn famously told fans a little while back to “get off Matt’s nuts” regarding the amount of time it has taken Reeves to write the sequel to his 2022 first film.

It now seems as if everything is on track to begin filming in January next year at Leavesden in the UK as planned with the film targeting an October 1st 2027 release.

Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell are all expected to reprise their roles of Bruce Wayne, James Gordon, Alfred Pennyworth and Oz Cobb/The Penguin from the first film.

Specifics of the script remain under wraps but casting on the film should be gearing up later in the year with at least one or two villain announcements expected.
