“GTA VI” Delayed Until November 2026

Rockstar Games

The most anticipated video game in years is going to have to be anticipated a little longer.

Take-Two Interactive announced on Thursday that “Grand Theft Auto VI” has been delayed a further six months and will now release on November 19th 2026. The delay was revealed during Take-Two’s quarterly earnings report.

The title was originally aiming for a release this month, but earlier this year, it was pushed back to May 2026. The resulting delay led to a major shift of release dates for a number of games that were trying to avoid releasing in the weeks before or after GTA 6.

Take-Two CEO Strass Zelnick said in a statement:

“Rockstar Games will now release Grand Theft Auto VI on November 19, 2026, and we remain both excited and confident they will deliver an unrivalled blockbuster entertainment experience.

We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realise has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.

We want to thank you again for your patience and support. While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern-day Vice City.”

The second trailer for the game was released in May and garnered 475 million views across platforms. The title unfolds in an alternate version of Miami.
