The PC version of “Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition,” a remaster of three classic games in that franchise, is back online reports PC Gamer
Last week Rockstar launched the game bundle on multiple platforms, including PC where it had to be purchased through the Rockstar Games Launcher (not Steam or Epic). Shortly afterwards however, said launcher went down and the games were pulled from sale.
The launcher came back late Friday, but the trilogy remained unavailable over the weekend. A tweet issued by the company cited a need to: “remove files unintentionally included in these versions. We’re sorry for the disruption and hope to have correct ones up soon.”
The remasters have now returned to sale, but that’s just one of the issues. The quality of these remasters have come under fire for both the various console and PC versions with memes, showcasing some of the glitches in the games, springing up all over social media and Reddit.
Rockstar has since tweeted that they: “are working to improve and update overall performance as we move forward.” Timing may be an issue though as both Eurogamer and NME are reporting that the game is getting review-bombed.
The PS5 version is the only one reviewed by enough critics on Metacritic so far to get a score which is 64/100. The user scores on the same page are at a mere 0.9/10 from over 2000 ratings. On other platforms listed on the review site, the user score is lower with thousands of negative ratings and user reviews lodged.
“Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition” is now available to purchase on all platforms.
