Grant Re-Teams With Ritchie For “Five Eyes”

Hugh Grant is in talks to re-team with his “The Man from UNCLE” and “The Gentlemen” director Guy Ritchie for the action thriller “Five Eyes” at Miramax and STX.

Should the deal close, Grant would join Jason Statham, Aubrey Plaza, Josh Hartnett and Cary Elwes in the project. Grant received rave reviews for his work as a sleazy paparazzi in “The Gentlemen” and just received a Critics Choice Award nomination for his work in HBO’s “The Undoing”.

The story follows MI6 guns-and-steel agent (Statham) who is recruited by a global intelligence agency to track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology that threatens to disrupt the world order.

Reluctantly paired with a CIA high-tech expert, the agent sets off on a globe-trotting mission where he will have to use all of his charm, ingenuity and stealth to track down and infiltrate billionaire arms broker.

Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies penned the script with revisions by Ritchie who directs and produces. Filming is taking place in Qatar and Turkey.
