Grammer On “Frasier” Sequel Series Laughs

CBS

Paramount+ has already filmed the “Frasier” sequel series, which will arrive sometime later this year.

The new series will find psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) returning to Boston with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two that he may finally get to fulfil.

He’s joined by returnees such as Bebe Neuwirth as Lilith, Peri Gilpin as Roz and new faces to the franchise, including Jack Cutmore-Scott as Frasier and Lilith’s son Freddy, Nicholas Lyndhurst, Toks Olagundoye, Jess Salgueiro and Anders Keith as Frasier’s nephew David.

Ahead of a date announcement, Grammer is out stirring up anticipation for the reboot. Speaking with The Independent, he says the multiple award-winning original show’s high standards have been met – and maybe even exceeded. Talking about some of the new cast, he says:

“At first, you cast these people. You’ve never seen them before. And boy, by about the middle of the second show, I thought, ‘Son of a gun. He’s actually doing it. He’s like Frasier’s kid. Wow.’ So I think it’s gonna be a great discovery for people. There are some new people on the show to really fall in love with, and arguably…. it may even be funnier.”

The sequel series will arrive twenty years after the original wrapped its ten-year run from 1993-2003 and remains one of the most famous U.S. sitcoms in modern history.
