“Good Fight” S4 Cut Short, Renewed For S5

CBS All Access has renewed “The Good Fight” for a fifth season whilst simultaneously announcing the current fourth season is being cut short to seven episodes.

The order comes just over a month after the return of the acclaimed legal drama. Production on it was shut down on account of the pandemic with only seven of the usual ten episodes completed.

Showrunners Michelle and Robert King say it’s admittedly weird not to be able to finish the season and it “left the story in even more absurd a place than usual”. With the renewal though “we know what story we’re planning to tell”.

It’s not clear if the next season order will extend to thirteen episodes to compensate though it’s unlikely at this point. The series has been one of the brightest shining lights both critically and audience wise for the CBS All Access service.
