Production has officially kicked off in Queensland, Australia on the sequel to Legendary’s 2021 monster mash-up film “Godzilla vs. Kong”.
Adam Wingard returns to direct the project which will mark a reunion of him with his “The Guest” leading man Dan Stevens who has joined the film. Further details about the project are under wraps
The project is the fifth feature in the Monster-verse saga that began with 2014’s “Godzilla” reboot. The “Godzilla vs. Kong” sequel will open on March 15th 2024, going up against competition around that time that includes “A Quiet Place: Day One” and “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse”.
Despite a simultaneous theatrical and HBO Max debut, last year’s film took in more than $460 million at the worldwide box office.
