Gillan Talks Nebula’s Post-Endgame Psyche

Marvel’s “Avengers: Endgame” closed out with Karen Gillan’s Nebula having to both kill her past self and deal with the fact her physically and verbally abusive father died (twice).

The character certainly has been through the ringer over the few films she’s been so there is the obvious question as to where “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” will take her. As part of a virtual panel at GalaxyCon Live recently (via ComicBook.com), Gillan discussed what’s going on in Nebula’s mind now the Mad Titan is gone:

“I’m sort of thinking about future Nebula in the sense like, ‘What is she going to be like now that that person’s abuse has gone out of her life? How is she going to build herself back up again?’ Because it’s an odd feeling, I think, for someone who’s been abused by a parent, because they still love them and they’re sad that they’re gone, but also they hate them and they’re glad that they’re gone. [I’d be] interested to maybe try and take [Nebula] to a place now where she’s starting to rebuild her life.

Having officially joined the Guardians, she’s now part of the team. James Gunn is expected to get to work on the new ‘Guardians’ once he’s finished his commitments to “The Suicide Squad” which is now in post-production.
