“Ghosted” Launches Big On Apple TV+

The Skydance spy action comedy feature “Ghosted,” starring Chris Evans and Ana de Armas, was the most watched movie debut to date in Apple TV+ history.

Samba TV revealed the results saying that the film pulled in 328,500 viewers from across the 3.1 million SmartTV households they sampled. A viewer counts as someone who tuned in for at least one minute.

To put that in comparison, other Apple TV+ premieres of late, like the Tom Hanks-led “Finch” snagged 228,500, the Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell-led “Spirited” scored 174,000 and the Taron Egerton-led “Tetris” had 88,000.

In addition, the completion rate for the film is reportedly 20% above the average rate for Apple TV+ movies. The actual numbers are understandably much bigger than the Samba TV sampling but Apple hasn’t announced those as yet.

Written by Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the film follows Cole (Evans), who falls head over heels for enigmatic Sadie (de Armas) before he makes the shocking discovery that she’s a secret agent.

Before they can decide on a second date, Cole and Sadie are swept away on an international adventure to save the world. The film is now available for viewing on the Apple TV+ service.
