“Mad Max: Fury Road” filmmaker George Miller will finally return shortly with the fantasy-romance-drama “Three Thousand Years Of Longing”.
Ahead of the Cannes premiere, the first footage has been released today promoting the first trailer’s release this coming Friday.
The $60 million budget film revolves around the encounter in a hotel room in Istanbul between a scholar (Tilda Swinton) and a djinn (Idris Elba) who offers her three wishes in exchange for his freedom.
Their conversation leads to consequences neither would have expected. MGM will release the R-rated film later this year.
Miller is currently working on the ‘Fury Road’ prequel feature “Furiosa” and recently told Deadline that the film’s story is a saga that takes place over a 15 year timespan instead of the three day period that ‘Fury Road’ unfolded in.
