An anime series based on the popular open-world role-playing game “Genshin Impact” is in the works with developer HoYoverse teaming with Japanese animation studio Ufotable on the project.
First released in 2020, the RPG title has become one of the highest-grossing mobile games in the world, grossing more than $3 billion in revenue in its first year.
The story unfolds in the fantasy world of Teyvat, home to seven nations – each of which is tied to a different element and ruled by a different god.
The game’s story follows twins who have travelled across countless worlds before becoming separated in Teyvat. You play one of them who travels Teyvat in search of the lost other twin and become involved in the affairs of Teyvat’s nations.
A three-minute ‘concept trailer’ announcing the project is also out. The companies, however, have not revealed an anticipated release date for the anime series, and plot specifics of the show aren’t available.
