Following delays last year, National Geographic has unveiled the full trailer and set a March 21st premiere date for the third season of hit biographical drama series “Genius”.
This season centers on the Queen of Soul herself Aretha Franklin with Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo (“Harriet,” “Widows”) as Aretha.
Also starring as Courtney B. Vance, David Cross, Malcolm Barett, Patrice Convington, Kimberly Hebert Gregory and Rebecca Naomi Jones.
The production will boast many of Aretha’s biggest recordings and hit songs from her comprehensive Warner Music catalogue.
Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks serves as executive producer and showrunner who will produce the mini-series for Fox 21 Television Studios (“American Crime Story”).
