“Inventing Anna” star Julia Garner has reportedly been offered the role of Madonna in the forthcoming biopic about the pop icon at Universal Pictures.
The film, which Madonna is directing and co-writing with Erin Cressida Wilson, will deal with her early days and culminates with her landmark 1990 Blonde Ambition tour that requires dancing and singing sequences.
Garner has emerged the favorite from over a dozen candidates – including Florence Pugh, Alexa Demie and Odessa Young – with her team considering and expected to accept the offer.
Amy Pascal is on board to produce.
