“Gangs of London” Renewed, Set For AMC

“The Raid” filmmaker Gareth Evans’ new action series hit “Gangs of London” has not only been renewed for a second season, but AMC is on board has come onboard as co-producer and picked up U.S. rights to the first season after Cinemax pulled out.

As a result, the ten-episode first season of the action-packed thriller will debut on AMC this Fall for US audiences. Pulse Films and SISTER produce the show which was both critically acclaimed and a major success in the U.K. upon launch.

Set in the heart of one of the world’s most dynamic and multicultural cities, “Gangs of London” tells the story of a city being torn apart by the turbulent power struggles of the international gangs that control it and the sudden power vacuum that’s created when the head of London’s most powerful crime family is assassinated. Joe Cole, Colm Meaney, Sope Dirisu, Lucian Msamati and Michelle Fairley star.

The series was the biggest original drama launch on Sky Atlantic of the past five years with the second season expected to arrive in 2022.
