With the annual ‘The Game Awards’ having just wrapped, the various world premiere trailers for upcoming 2018 game titles have been released online.
The biggest clip, without a doubt, was an eight minute piece from “Metal Gear Solid” mastermind Hideo Kojima’s long awaited “Death Stranding” along with the reveal of a game based on Max Brooks’ novel “World War Z”.
There’s also “Dark Souls” creators From Software’s new untitled effort, the creators of “Firewatch” returning with their new game “In the Valley of the Gods,” new entries in the “Bayonetta” and “Soul Calibur” franchises, and trailers for announced games like “Metro Exodus” and “Sea of Thieves”.
“The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” topped the awards themselves with Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Action/Adventure Game. “Cuphead” also took three awards for Best Independent Game, Best Debut Indie and Best Art Direction, as did “Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice” which won for Games for Impact, Best Audio Design and Best Performance.
Other winners included “Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus” for Best Action Game, “Persona 5” for Best RPG, “Injustice 2” for Best Fighting Game, “Super Mario Odyssey” for Best Family Game, “Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle” for Best Strategy Game, “Forza Motorsport 7” Best Sports Game, “Overwatch” for Best Ongoing Game, “Monument Valley 2” for Best Mobile Game, “Resident Evil VII” for Best VR Game, “What Remains of Edith Finch” for Best Narrative, “NieR: Automata” for Best Score, and “The Last of Us Part II” for Most Anticipated Game:
