Limited Run Games, Konami and Marvel have premiered the trailer for “Marvel MaXimum Collection,” an upcoming release containing thirteen versions of classic 8-bit and 16-bit Marvel video games.
Versions available in the collection span arcade, Game Boy, Game Gear, NES, Sega Genesis, and/or Super NES formats. ll games include a rewind option and save states.
The biggest title is the famed “X-Men: The Arcade Game” released in 1992 with this version including six-player online multiplayer with rollback netcode to try and recreate the feeling of playing in an arcade.
Also included are “Spider-Man/Venom: Maximum Carnage,” “Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety,” “Spider-Man/X-Men: Arcade’s Revenge,” “Captain America and The Avengers”, and the infamously difficult NES title “Silver Surfer”.
There are also supplementary features like an Archive section with high-resolution scans of original box art, instruction manuals, and vintage advertisements.
“Marvel MaXimum Collection” is coming to PS5, Xbox, Switch and PC with a specific release date yet to be announced.
