“Game of Thrones” Gets A 4K Boxset

While several shows have dabbled with single seasons in the format, most notably “Westworld” which is still ongoing, another HBO show is about to make history as the first complete scripted TV series to be released in its entirety on 4K Ultra HD.

“Game of Thrones: The Complete Collection” will be released this November 3rd featuring all 73 episodes along with over 15 hours of bonus content. The entire run of the series will now not just be in 4K, but will also be done in Dolby Vision HDR which dramatically expands the color palette and contrast range.

In addition, the 4K Ultra HD discs of the collection will feature Dolby Atmos soundtracks remixed specifically for the home theater environment to place and move audio anywhere in the room, including overhead. The soundtracks are also fully backward compatible with traditional audio configurations and legacy home entertainment equipment.

Special features will include everything originally released on the 2019 The Complete Series and The Complete Collection: Limited Collector’s Edition Blu-ray sets. There’s also a digital copy of every episode. The set will be priced at $254.99 RRP.
