Silent Hill 2
Bloober Team (“Layers of Fear,” “Blair Witch”) has announced that development of the Unreal Engine 5-powered remake of iconic 2001 survival horror game “Silent Hill 2” is near completion for PS5 and PC.
Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno tells PAP Business (via Bankier that the game is “technically ready” but “[that] does not mean that the game is finished, but we are close.” In terms of promotion and release, that is up to Konami.
Elden Ring
From Software’s “Elden Ring” has added the long-awaited ray tracing support which is now available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC as part of the game’s version 1.09 update. The update includes a range of balance adjustments and bug fixes and arrives just days before the first anniversary of the game’s release. [Source: FromSoftware]
Redfall
Arkane is “working actively” to remove the always-online requirement when playing strictly in the single-player mode of its upcoming “Redfall” vampire shooter title. The company says the reason for always being online isn’t due to a store or microtransactions, but rather “accessibility stuff”. [Source: Eurogamer]
Aliens: Dark Descent
Focus Entertainment has set a June 20th release date for “Aliens: Dark Descent” which is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One and PC from French studio Tindalos Interactive.
The game is dubbed as a ‘strategic, real-time, squad-based tactical action game’ and has players controlling a squad of Colonial Marines to stop a Xenomorph outbreak. [Source: VGC]
Counter-Strike 2
Valve has officially announced “Counter-Strike 2,” dubbed the largest technical leap forward in Counter-Strike’s history, as set to be released this Summer.
The project will arrive as a free upgrade to “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive” allowing players to bring across their inventory from the current game. Valve promises “new features and updates for years to come” from the game. [Source: Valve]
