Ahead of the release of her new Netflix action thriller “Heart of Stone,” actress Gal Gadot says she’s ready to focus on projects in which she has serious creative involvement.

Speaking with Total Film recently, she discussed her future in the wake of the cancellation of Patty Jenkins’ third “Wonder Woman”. This has led to her shifting away from jobs-for-hire gigs in favour of something she’s more involved with.

She says: To me, starting and developing stories that I’m passionate about is an incredible thing”. She adds she feels empowered by the process, which means she doesn’t have to sit at home waiting for the next offer to come in: “I enjoy doing it. It keeps me alive.”

Despite the move, she isn’t leaving other gigs behind, advising that she’s “not only going to do my own projects, I’m going to work as an actress-for-hire still”. Yet, it’s obvious from her comments that her passion lies heavily in the creative process:

The fact that I can go ahead and tell the stories that I’m passionate about – from ideas that I conceived, or from ideas that I find fascinating from people that want to partner with us – it’s an incredible thing.”

The future of Gadot’s Wonder Woman role is not clear yet as Peter Safran and James Gunn take the reins of the DC Universe.
