“Wonder Woman” actress Gal Gadot has gone into more detail on her previously brief remarks about director Joss Whedon.
Whedon has been under serious fire for months over his alleged toxic behaviour toward the casts of his various series along with his work on the reshoots of “Justice League”.
Previously Gadot acknowledged her own run-in with Whedon but only said she had an experience that “wasn’t the best one, but I took care of it there and when it happened. I took it to the higher-ups.”
In a Saturday interview with Israeli news outlet N12 (via The Playlist), Gadot elaborated on that prior statement, going more into Whedon’s threat after a clash between the pair over some new dialog Whedon had written:
“He kind of threatened my career and said if I did something, he would make my career miserable, and I just took care of it instead.”
During the exchange, Whedon also allegedly disparaged “Wonder Woman” director Patty Jenkins. Gadot has supported the claims of others, particularly colleague Ray Fisher, in the past. In previous statements from reps, Whedon has denied any wrongdoing.
That wasn’t all though as in the interview Gadot responded to the sexual assault allegations made against her “Death On The Nile” co-star Armie Hammer.
The two play husband and wife in the murder mystery feature and are essentially two of the four key characters in the movie which has been delayed several times. Gadot says:
“It’s very complex. If the truth is that he did things [alleged of him], then a person has to pay the price for his actions and take responsibility. I don’t know what will happen.”
It’s still uncertain what 20th Century Studios will do with that film which is currently slated for February 11th 2022. Hammer’s role is a key part of the whole film, to replace or reshoot would be an extremely costly endeavour.
