A couple of film sequel updates today.
First up, Henry Golding says he doesn’t expect he’ll be asked back to reprise his role of Snake Eyes for the new Derek Connelly-penned “G.I. Joe”/”Transformers” crossover film in the works at Paramount Pictures. Speaking with ComicBook.com while promoting “The Old Guard 2,” Golding says:
“I know there’s stuff happening, there’s rumors of Transformers and Snake Eyes. I don’t know if they’ll just skip our G.I. Joe and go back to the original G.I. Joe, like, who knows? I think we had a rough, rough run on that one.”
Next, Daniel RPK is reporting that Chris Bremner (“Bad Boys for Life”) is penning a new draft of a script for a third “National Treasure”. Bremner has been attached to the project for years, basically during the early days of the pandemic, but the scooper indicates there’s some heat under the production again with the new draft getting the go ahead.
Finally comes word via Variety that Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, comedian Caleb Hearon along with Broadway players Helen J. Shen and Conrad Ricamora have all joined the cast of “The Devil Wears Prada” sequel.
They join fellow returnees Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman along with the newly cast Kenneth Branagh and Simone Ashley in the project which is currently in production ahead of a May 1st 2026 opening.
