FX studio chief John Landgraf has offered a couple of quick updates regarding how the network’s shows are going in production as part of his virtual TCA press call today.
First up he confirms that Noah Hawley has delivered all the scripts for his planned “Alien” TV series, which will begin shooting next year. Before that, Hawley has the fifth season of “Fargo” which kicks off filming this Fall.
The “Justified” revival limited series will reportedly wrap near the end of this month, while the lavish adaptation of James Clavell’s “Shogun” already wrapped filming in June and will debut next year.
Landgraf also famously coined the term ‘peak TV’ and says he thinks this year will be the ‘peak’ of said peak TV. His research team says that approximately 357 U.S. scripted original series launched in the first half of this year, up 16% on 2021.
