FX has greenlit a TV series based on Kazuo Ishiguro’s acclaimed novel “Never Let Me Go” with plans to release it through Hulu. Viola Prettejohn, Tracey Ullman and Kelly Macdonald lead the cast.

Prettejohn stars as Thora, a rebellious teenage clone who escapes from the boarding school where she and her fellow clones are kept hidden from society.

As she starts living undercover in the outside world, she unwittingly sets in motion events that will spark a revolution and test the boundaries of what it means to be human.

The project hails from “The Nevers” writer and showrunner Melissa Iqbal and will see filmmaker Alex Garland, who penned the prior 2010 film adaptation starring Andrew Garfield and Carey Mulligan, as an executive producer.

DNA Productions, FX Productions, and Searchlight Television are all backing the project, with Marc Munden directing the pilot. Garland, Munden, Ishiguro, Iqbal, Andrew Macdonald, Allon Reich and Maria Fleischer executive produce.

Aiysha Hart, Spike Fearn, Shaniqua Okwok, Gary Beadle, Kwami Odoom, Susan Brown and Edward Holcroft co-star. The series will be released on Disney+ under the Star banner internationally.
