FX has delayed the premiere of the limited series “A Murder at the End of the World” from August 29th to November.
The delay is thought to be one of the first, if not THE first, high-profile TV series to move due to the ongoing writer’s and actor’s strikes.
With talent unable to do press and promotion during the strikes, it’s hard for an original series to get any traction in the market – especially one like this, which is not based on existing IP.
Emma Corrin, Clive Owen, Harris Dickinson and Brit Marling star in the seven-part series which hails from “The OA” creators Marling and Zal Batmanglij.
The Iceland-shot story unfolds in a remote and isolated compound of a reclusive billionaire (Owen). Corrin plays Gen Z tech-savvy hacker and amateur sleuth Darby Hart.
Darby is one of nine guests invited to participate in a retreat at a remote and dazzling location. When one of the other guests is found dead, Darby must use all of her skills to prove it was murder.
Alice Braga, Joan Chen, Raúl Esparza, Jermaine Fowler, Ryan J. Haddad, Pegah Ferydoni, Javed Khan, Louis Cancelmi, Edoardo Ballerini, Britian Seibert, Christopher Gurr, Kellan Tetlow, Daniel Olson and Neal Huff also star.
Marling and Batmanglij executive produce alongside Andrea Sperling, Melanie Marnich and Nicki Paluga.
