Peacock has unveiled the full trailer for the second season of its Anthony Mackie-led action comedy series “Twisted Metal” based on the classic PlayStation video game series.
The series unfolds in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Mackie stars as John Doe, a talkative milkman with amnesia, who is given a mission to traverse the desolate United States to deliver a mysterious package.
In the new run, John and Quiet find themselves entering the deadly ‘Twisted Metal’ tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man known as Calypso.
As they try to survive an onslaught of dangerous new foes and familiar faces alike, including the murderous clown Sweet Tooth, things get complicated for John when he reunites with his long-lost sister, the vigilante Dollface.
The first season also starred Stephanie Beatriz, Neve Campbell, Thomas Haden Church, and both Joe Seanoa and Will Arnett in the role of Sweet Tooth.
Emmy nominee Anthony Carrigan (“Gotham,” “Barry”) joins in the series recurring role of Calypso while guest stars this season include comedian/writer/actress Patty Guggenheim (“She-Hulk: Attorney at Law”), Richard de Klerk (“Strange Empire”) and Tiana Okoye (“Mrs. Davis”).
The series is written and executive produced by Michael Jonathan Smith, who also serves as the showrunner. The second season debuts July 31st.
