The first full trailer and poster have arrived ahead of the premiere of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” the most standalone episodic and ‘old school’ of the more recent “Star Trek” series which arrives via Paramount+ on May 5th.

Serving as a prequel to the original 1960s series, the story takes place on the U.S.S. Enterprise years before Captain Kirk took the helm as Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) leads the crew on its mission to explore the unknown.

Mount, Rebecca Romijn and Ethan Peck played Pike, Number One and Spock respectively in the second season of “Star Trek: Discovery” with events here taking place after, but not requiring viewership of those ‘Discovery’ episodes to enjoy.

Also onboard are is Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas, Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga, and Bruce Horak as Hemmer.

“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” will stream exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., Latin America, Australia and the Nordics; on Crave in Canada; and additional international availability will be announced at a later date.
