20th Century Studios has released the full-length trailer for “Predator: Badlands,” the next live-action film continuation of the “Predator” franchise.
After the success of “Prey” several years ago, and again with the recent animated anthology film “Predator: Killer of Killers,” filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg returns for this film that “welcomes you to a world of hurt”.
Set in the future on a remote planet, a young Predator – outcast from his clan – finds an unlikely ally in the Weyland-Yutani android Thia (Elle Fanning) and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary.
Unlike previous movies in the franchise, here the Predator is the protagonist rather than an antagonist. The trailer reveals that Fanning’s robot appears to be part of the company’s bioweapons division.
Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi takes on the role of the Predator, who is named Dek, in the film that was shot in New Zealand. “Predator: Badlands” is slated to be theatrically released in the United States on November 7th.
