Peacock has premiered the full trailer for its five-episode limited series “Angelyne” which will premiere on the service on May 19th.
Anyone who knows Los Angeles of the 1980s knows of Angelyne. The blond bombshell with her iconic pink outerwear and Corvette is one of the first examples of a celebrity famous just for being famous – renting out billboards across the city advertising only herself.
The series sees former “Shameless” star Emmy Rossum who, with the help of some prosthetics and a lot of strategic costuming, hair and make-up, is nearly unrecognisable in the role.
Lucy Tcherniak directs the series’ entire run with Martin Campbell, Alex Karpovsky, Jefferson Hall, Lukas Gage, Charlie Rowe, Hamish Linklater, Michael Angarano and David Krumholtz co-starring.
