Following a teaser yesterday, Marvel Studios has released the official trailer for its upcoming “Wonder Man” meta comedy series.
Dubbed a love letter to filmmaking, acting, and Hollywood itself, “Wonder Man” follows Hollywood actor Simon Williams (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) as he’s thrust into the world of superheroes, getting powers of his own, and becoming the superhero known as Wonder Man.
In the series, the industry announces modern-day film reboot of a classic superhero TV series property with legendary filmmaker Von Kovak (Zlatko Burić) coming out of retirement to direct.
Sir Ben Kingsley reprises his role as Trevor Slattery who seems to be a friend of Simon with both up for roles in the film.
Also starring is Demetrius Grosse as Simon’s brother Eric Williams (aka. Grim Reaper) and Ed Harris as talent agent Neal Saroyan. Daniel Destin Cretton and Stella Meghie each direct several episodes while Andrew Guest is head writer.
All eight episodes of the series will be available for streaming on January 27th.
