Netflix has premiered the full trailer for the Robert De Niro-led limited thriller series “Zero Day”, which will be released on the streaming service on February 20th. The trailer follows on from a clip of the opening scene released online last week.
This is the legendary actor’s first foray into series television. In “Zero Day,” Robert De Niro will play a respected former U.S. President, George Mullen, who is called in to help the current President (Angela Bassett).
Appointed as head of the Zero Day Commission, he is charged with finding the perpetrators of a devastating cyber attack that has caused chaos around the country and thousands of fatalities.
As disinformation runs rampant and the personal ambitions of power brokers in technology, Wall Street, and the government collide, Mullen’s unwavering search for the truth forces him to confront his own dark secrets while risking all he holds dear. From the trailer, it looks like someone within the government may also be trying to blame Mullen for everything.
Lizzy Caplan, Jesse Plemons, Joan Allen, Connie Britton, and Matthew Modine, with Bill Camp, Dan Stevens, Gaby Hoffmann, Clark Gregg, and McKinley Belcher III as guest stars.
Eric Newman, Noah Oppenheim, and New York Times writer Michael S. Schmidt co-created the six-episode “Zero Day” series. Lesli Linka Glatter directed all episodes, and Robert De Niro is an executive producer.
