“Friday the 13th” Gets A 16-Disc Blu-ray Set

Scream Factory has announced the “Friday the 13th Collection: Deluxe Edition,” a 16-disc Blu-ray box-set containing all twelve films in the series from Paramount Pictures and New Line Cinema.

The films include the original ten films that ran from 1980’s “Friday the 13th” to 2001’s “Jason X” along with 2003’s “Freddy vs. Jason” and 2009’s “Friday the 13th” reboot.

The set boasts new 4K scans of the original negatives for Parts 1-4, with Part 3 in both 2D and its original 3D presentation. The ninth film, “Jason Goes to Hell,” will also boast a new 2K scan of the original negatives for the theatrical version, plus the same with ‘HD inserts’ for the unrated version.

Additionally, each film comes with a dedicated Blu-ray case featuring original theatrical artwork. The set includes new and existing extras ranging from articles and TV spots to commentary tracks from filmmakers Adam Green And Joe Lynch. There’s also a new collectible rigid slipcover with newly-commissioned art, and 40-page collectible essay booklet with archival still photography.
