Frank Marshall is mostly known for producing many of the biggest franchises of the past few decades from “Indiana Jones” and “Back to the Future” to the “Bourne” series and all the variations of “Jurassic Park”.
However he’s also known for occasionally dabbling his hand in directing which he’s done four times before now – scary spider comedy “Arachnophobia,” Andes soccer team cannibalism drama “Alive,” the Michael Crichton adaptation “Congo,” and the Paul Walker-led huskie drama “Eight Below”.
Now, fourteen years after his last go around, Marshall returns to the director’s chair for “The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart,” a new HBO documentary about one of the most famous and influential bands of all time – The Bee Gees.
The doco takes a deep look into the collective legend of Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb who hit the music scene in the 1960s, were one of the cornerstones of disco, penned over 1,000 songs and had at least twenty #1 hits ranging from “Stayin Alive,” “Tragedy,” “Night Fever,” “How Deep Is Your Love,” “Words,” “I’ve Got to Get a Message to You,” and “You Should Be Dancing”.
“The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart” premieres on HBO on Saturday, December 12th and will be available to stream on HBO Max. Check out the official trailer below:
