Dave Franco, Ed Skrein and Brian Tyree Henry have joined the cast of Barry Jenkins’ “If Beale Street Could Talk” at Annapurna Pictures and Plan B. It’s a project that marks the filmmaker’s immediate follow-up to his Best Picture Oscar winner “Moonlight”.
Based on James Baldwin’s novel, the drama follows Tish (KiKi Layne), a newly engaged Harlem woman who races against the clock to prove her lover’s innocence while carrying their first child to term.
Stephan James, Colman Domingo and Regina King co-star. Jenkins wrote the screen adaptation and is producing via his Pastel label along with Annapurna Pictures and Plan B.
