Fox has scrapped plans to pursue a U.S. version of UK sci-fi cult hit “Torchwood” reports The Live Feed.
BBC Worldwide Production V.P. Jane Tranter reiterates however that a U.S. version of the recent and more adult-targeted “Doctor Who” spin-off series is still “very much ongoing and very much alive.” A press release from BBC Worldwide adds that “We are currently in discussion with several interested networks.”
One big issue has also been laid to rest – the American remake of “Doctor Who” that was briefly considered will NOT be going forward. Tranter says “It may well be confusing to have a British Doctor and an American Doctor at the same time. There is only one Doctor, so I don’t see that happening.”
