They only just premiered but both the Kim Cattrall-led “Filthy Rich” and the John Slattery-led “NeXt” have both been cancelled by Fox after just five and three episodes having aired respectively.
Both series were originally intended for this past Summer will see out their current ten-episode runs with no renewals. Both shows averaged a dismal 0.5/3 in the adults 18-49 demo rating.
“Filthy Rich” had Cattrall as the matriarch of a mega-rich Southern family famous for creating a wildly successful Christian television network. When her husband dies in a plane crash, she’s stunned to learn he fathered three illegitimate children – all of whom are written into his will.
“NeXt” was a fact-based thriller about the emergence of a deadly, rogue artificial intelligence. Slattery played a Silicon Valley pioneer, who discovers that one of his own creations might spell global catastrophe and teams with a cybercrime agent to stop it.
