Filming has reportedly wrapped on “John Wick: Chapter 4,” the shoot closing up shop several days ago after commencing way back in May.
Today though, photographs of gifts given to the crew at the film’s wrap have gone online (via One Take News) and seem to confirm the new movie’s title: “John Wick: Chapter 4 – Hagakure”.
The ‘Hagakure’ of the title, following on from the ‘Parabellum’ (Latin for ‘Prepare for War’) moniker of the third one, refers to what’s also known as ‘The Book of the Samurai’ – a collection of 17th century texts by clerk Yamamoto Tsunetomo (first published in 1900) considered the definitive guide of the samurai.
Lionsgate hasn’t confirmed the title as yet. The new film was partly shot in Japan (along with New York, Berlin and Paris) and will likely see Keanu Reeves’ Wick setting out to bring the High Table down.
Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, Rina Sawayama, Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgård, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins and Clancy Brown co-star.
Chad Stahelski directs from a script by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch with the film targeting a May 22nd 2022 release.
