Cary Elwes along with Corey Stoll (“House of Cards,” “Billions”), Michiel Huisman (“Game of Thrones,” “The Flight Attendant”) and Alfonso Herrera (“Sense8,” “Ozark”) have all joined the cast of Zack Snyder’s two-part sci-fi epic “Rebel Moon” at Netflix.
The story tells of a peaceful colony on the galaxy’s edge threatened by a tyrannical regent. The desperate colonists dispatch a young woman (Sofia Boutella) with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighbouring planets to help them make a stand.
Specifics of the roles of the newcomers are unknown, except Elwes who will be playing the king of the galactic empire. Rupert Friend, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher and Stuart Martin also star in the project.
A just over six-month shoot begins in the next few weeks. Snyder co-wrote the script with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad.
